In 2016 the walking family got a new special member. Mr. de Waal is a hundred years old walker. Because of many years walkingexperience this old man was able to finish the Four Days Marches. His age didn't stop him, but at the finish he needs to rest his feet. The gladiolus in his hands is triumphant going up as a sign of victory. On his backpack he placed the medal with the '100'.
2016 was the year of the 100th Walk of the World.
Mr. de Waal is our own creation and is casted in pewter.
